Ribald Kawaii Hamster

I finally got a laptop that's fast enough for me to watch videos on. My old laptop was too slow so whenever I wanted to watch videos I would have to use one of Noah's computers. I celebrated this new luxury by spending most of Sunday morning catching up on my TV in Japan (and finally watching Chad Vader). So, in sum, I wasted a bunch of time. Fortunately however, I gleaned something from the experience: I was introduced to Ebichu, the Housekeeping Hamster. And my life is infinitely enriched because of it.

Oruchuban Ebichu (Ebichu Minds the House) is about an adorable talking hamster who is absolutely devoted to her Office Lady owner. This is definitely not a kid's show. According to the Japanese anime studio Gainax, "The story is full of words considered unsuitable for broadcast, plus violence, all in stark contrast to the apparent cuteness of Ebichu." Which is (of course) why it's so funny. The couple of episodes I watched were filled with raunchy, sexual humor. In episode 17, Ebichu learns to live with some distressing new hair growth:

Though there's a lot of sexual content, it's not at all titillating. It's just really funny and nasty. And highly recommended.
