Get a Load of Them Sno-Balls!

I love that they chose to replace her head with the "well-stacked" Sno-Balls. Veeeery subtle.

That gives me an idea....

Oh, boy! Wouldn't you just love to "deep throat" such a "well-hung" Twinkie?

Twinkie the Kid's become quite the man!

Albuquerque from Above

After our hike through Petroglyph National Monument, we took the tram to the Sandia Peak so we could watch the sun set from 11,000 feet. After a bit of wandering around the mountain top, we went to the restaurant to sip coffee cocktails and watch the sun go down. This is one of the best things to do in Albuquerque. Plus, the city looks so much prettier from 11,000 feet.

Next time I go up there, I'm bringing a thermos full of Bailey's and coffee.

Petroglyph National Monument

We also took Noah's parents to Petroglyph National Monument, which is about a 10 minute drive west from downtown Crapuquerque. There are between 15-20,000 petroglyphs carved into the volcanic rock that once flowed from the dormant volcanoes that dominate the city's western landscape.

The carvings were mostly done by the Pueblo Indians and the early Spanish settlers. Most of them were created between 1300 and 1650. Visitors can hike a number of different trails and search the rock for petroglyphs. See the nice spiral we found?

There's no information along the trails to help you interpret the cryptic drawings that you find, but it's still kinda fun to look for them and try to determine whether they are examples of prehistoric, historic, or modern graffiti. I wonder if the carving of a robot I saw is evidence that the Pueblo Indians had contact with actual robots! Or maybe the Spanish used robots to conquer the native people. Who knows?

Soda Dam in Jemez

Noah's parents were visiting us from Wisconsin over the past week, hence the lack of posts. Since they had never been to New Mexico, we did tons of exploring. We spent a day in the gorgeous Jemez Mountains (between Albuquerque and Santa Fe). The strange and beautiful red rock formations make Jemez seem like an alien landscape. We marveled at the scenery and searched for hot springs in the forest. Unfortunately the only hot spring we found was filled with naked Japanese tourists. So, that was kind of a bust. But we did enjoy crawling around Soda Dam:

The Jemez River drops 15 feet as it flows through this bizarre natural dam which was formed by minerals deposited by the surrounding hot springs. The minerals continue to build up, countering the eroding force of the water.

Here's a view of the river from on top of the dam:

Noah is standing on top of the dam and I took the picture from a higher ledge.

There are supposed to be several hot springs in the area. I look forward to finding them. I can't imagine that they'll all be filled with naked Japanese tourists.

Kristen Schaal's Bust Interview

Since I just mentioned Kristen Schaal in my post about Horrible People, I thought I'd share a quote from her interview in the Oct/Nov issue of Bust magazine. This is her response to a question about an idea for a show she pitched to Comedy Central:

That happened a few years ago. This is all coming back to me through my manager, so this is like a second-hand quote, but he said they were like, "We're not interested in doing shows with female leads." So I was like, "Well what about Sarah Silverman?" and they were like, "Well, she's really sexy." I was like, "You could have just said you don't like the idea!"
Um, isn't it kinda funny that Silverman was on the cover of the issue this interview was in?

But really, what a bunch of jerky poo-balls! Besides, don't you think she's got a sexy-goofy Olive Oyl thing going?

Thankfully, her supposed lack of sexiness hasn't otherwise kept her from performing. Or from stripping right down to her underoos on The Daily Show!
