Castelbajac's Rejuvenile Chic

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is one of my all time favorite designers. His shows are always playful, funny, and imaginative. Last season, it was all legos, crayon colors and puffy cloud patterns. He continues to develop his rejuvenile chic with his 2009 Fall collection.

Let's start with the tiny top hats and pre-school animal dresses:

I'm gonna have to get down to the Tiny Hats store and stock up. I've always been pretty sure that I could pull off a tiny hat.

He also employed a Muppet motif:

I desperately want those muppet-patterned opera length gloves.

And check out this muppet-suited couple:

Not only is that male model wearing a tiny hat, he's sporting a muppet-patterned tiny hat! That's where confidence comes from, people. You too would smirk like that if you had a muppet-patterned tiny top hat.

See more muppet-themed outfits along with the rest of the Castelbajac 2009 Fall collection here.

Ceci N'est Pas Une Pipe

I love this t-shirt design:

And I was just talking about Magritte. Here's the painting it's referring to. Super Mario and Surrealism go so well together.

You can buy it (for me) here.

Garbage Pail Kids in Translation

After seeing the ode to the Garbage Pail Kids over at Topless Robot, I was inspired to look into the foreign language versions. I already knew about La Pandilla Basura, the Spanish language version that was released in Latin American countries, but I found the French version Les Crados, the Japanese Bukimi Kun, and the Brazilian Gang Do Lixo. Awesome! It's like a Garbage Pail Kids United Nations. I wanna be a translator there!

Here's the same card in English, French, Spanish, and Japanese:

Défonce means gets/getting high.

Soplando means blowing.

Here's my favorite from Les Crados:

Miam-miam is how the French say yum yum.

My favorite from La Pandilla Basura:

Lengua inmunda means filthy tongue.

And here's one of my favorites from the US:

The Pillsbury Doughboy sharts perfectly formed cupcakes! Brilliant! It works on so many levels.

Lincolntaur: The Puzzle

America's Greatest Presidentaur has been made into a puzzle:

I'm really trying to turn Presidents' Day into a holiday with its own customs. Putting together a Presidentaur puzzle would be a great way to celebrate. Also? I think the traditional meal should be lasagna in honor of President Garfield, obviously.

I made the picture over at PhotoFunia.

Beckham's Banhart Tattoo

Dang! Who knew Beckham was such a big Devendra Banhart fan?

I never would have expected it.

This might be my favorite image at PhotoFunia.
