Awesome Waste of Time: PhotoFunia
PhotoFunia is a really fun and easy to use site that puts your photos into other photos. Yo dawg, I heard you like pics, so we put pics in yo pics... Sorry about that. Anyway, you don't have to do any adjusting at all. You simply choose one of their photos and then upload yours. There are about 90 images to choose from. Some of them include:
A bunch of dudes in gas masks:
Putin leading a meeting:
A woman reading Glamour:
The site isn't even selling anything as far as I can tell. Now go waste some time!

Now That's an Amazing Toilet!
This video is an advertisement for a toilet called "the Quattro" by St. Thomas Creations. The youtube poster writes, "This beautiful toilet can flush just about anything!!!!!" I find the word "beautiful" to be a bit hyperbolic. I mean it's attractive, sure, but beautiful? I wouldn't go that far. However, it truly can flush just about anything. I think it may even warrant all five exclamation points. Watch, transfixed, as the toilet flushes its little toilet-heart out. It starts out with 2½ pounds of baby carrots:
It continues to successfully flush all sorts of strange objects in surprising quantities, from three pounds of large gummi bears to four complete sets of plastic chess pieces. The video is oddly mesmerizing. God knows how long I would have watched it had they kept putting stuff into it. I found myself wondering, "What are they gonna flush next?" I hope there's a sequel. My only criticism of this wonderful film is the soundtrack. I think they could have chosen a better song to accompany all the amazing flushing, a song as spellbinding as the toilet itself.
And wouldn't it be comforting to know that if you ate four chess sets, you wouldn't have to worry that your toilet couldn't handle the load?

Ãgatha Ruiz de la Prada in Milan
I really liked Ãgatha Ruiz de la Prada's show last week in Madrid, but it seems that she was holding back a little. She totally let loose in Milan yesterday and the results were spectacular. The show was thematically similar, but much more surreal and strange.
Let's begin with the fried egg and baguette motif:
I love the fried egg dress! I want some little fried egg barrettes to match.
Then there was the magnificent upside down umbrella dress:
It's beautiful, bizarre, and Magritte-y. The water droplets are just awesome.
But if I had to choose a favorite, I think it might be this one:
It's a mustache dress! An adorable purple handlebar mustache dress! And that pink hood is retarded-cute.
It was really hard to pick only a few photos. The whole collection is filled with wonderful weirdness. Check it out.

Blue Cheese + Chocolate = Holy Yum!
Having lived in Wisconsin for several years, I thought I'd seen it all when it came to cheese. Oh, I was jaded indeed. But this past weekend at the Fiery Foods and BBQ show, I was introduced to an amazing flavor combination: chocolate and blue cheese. Now, chocolate and cheese isn't that obscure of a combination. Chocolate cheesecake is very common, though it doesn't really count because cream cheese is so mild. Wisconsin produces lots of a chocolate cheese that supposedly tastes like fudge. I always avoided the tootsie roll brown wedges. Here's a disturbing recipe that calls for velveeta.
But blue cheese chocolate truffles?
I was intrigued. When I expressed interest, I was offered a sample of the Smokey Blue Truffle, a chocolate, cream, and blue cheese truffle rolled in crushed almonds. It was incredible. Had I not known, I never would have guessed it was blue cheese. It tasted like slightly tangy, extra creamy chocolate with some smokiness from the almonds.
Now I'm on the hunt for recipes that combine blue cheese and chocolate. I found a video of Heston Blumenthal preparing Chocolat Coulant with blue cheese. Chocolat coulant means flowing chocolate. It's basically a little cake that is filled with liquid chocolate, so that when you cut into it warm chocolate comes gushing out. It's pretty impressive and totally pornographic. Blumenthal's innovation is to add blue cheese to the mix. This is a recipe for a more traditional Chocolat Coulant served with blue cheese ice cream. Before I attempt any gourmet French desserts though, I think I'll try something simpler, like a blue cheese chocolate sauce or something.
